CAQM conducts Special Inspection of Urban Road Redevelopment works in Faridabad and Gurugram

On 22 July 2026, the Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) carried out a special inspection of 64 urban road stretches (≈31 km) in Faridabad and Gurugram. Using nine Flying Squads, the inspection covered 50 stretches under the Municipal Corporation Faridabad and 14 under the Municipal Corporation Gurugram, focusing on roads with Right‑of‑Way widths of <10 m and 10‑15 m. While 49 stretches (38 in Faridabad, 11 in Gurugram) had end‑to‑end paving, 15 stretches lacked complete paving, indicating pending redevelopment. CAQM noted non‑compliance despite municipal claims, warned of disciplinary action for misinformation, and reiterated the need for full implementation of the Standard Framework for Paving and Greening to curb road‑dust resuspension and aid mechanised sweeping.
