Department of Telecommunications Activates Intra Circle Roaming in Jammu & Kashmir, Assam and Nagaland amid Heavy Rainfall, Cloudburst and Landslides

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) activated Intra‑Circle Roaming (ICR) in disaster‑affected districts of Jammu & Kashmir (Poonch, Rajouri), Assam (Sibsagar, Charaideo, Jorhat) and Nagaland (Mon) following heavy rainfall, cloudbursts and landslides. ICR enables subscribers of any telecom operator to automatically connect to another operator’s network when their home network is unavailable, and is also available to visitors from other parts of the country. DoT issued directions to all service providers, urged users to keep automatic network selection enabled, and is monitoring restoration through field units to support residents, relief teams, healthcare personnel and government agencies.
