LOK SABHA SPEAKER PAYS FLORAL TRIBUTES TO LOKMANYA BAL GANGADHAR TILAK

On 23 July 2026, Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla, accompanied by MPs, former members and dignitaries, offered floral tributes at the portrait of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak in the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan, marking Tilak’s birth anniversary. The Secretary‑General of Lok Sabha, Shri Utpal Kumar Singh, also paid tribute. The portrait was originally unveiled on 28 July 1956 by Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in recognition of Tilak’s contributions to the freedom struggle.
