The Ministry of MSME is implementing it's PM Vishwakarma Scheme in West Bengal in collaboration with the State Government

The Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises is rolling out the PM Vishwakarma Scheme in West Bengal after a state notification on 14‑05‑2026 establishing a State Monitoring Committee and District Implementation Committees. Launched on 17‑09‑2023, the scheme supports artisans in 18 traditional trades with skill training, toolkit incentives, collateral‑free credit, digital transaction incentives and marketing assistance. Under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, West Bengal has disbursed 5.82 crore loans worth Rs 3.55 lakh crore since 08‑04‑2015. The Ministry also outlined several women‑focused initiatives, including preferential procurement, enhanced credit guarantees, higher margin‑money subsidies, skill upgradation programmes, and the Yashasvini Campaign. Additionally, 23 Host Institutes in the state can provide up to Rs 15 lakh per approved idea under the MSME Innovative Scheme’s incubation component.
