16th BRICS Health Ministers' Meeting Concludes Successfully under India's BRICS Chairship 2026

The 16th BRICS Health Ministers' Meeting concluded in Chandigarh under India’s BRICS Chairship 2026, adopting the 16th BRICS Health Ministerial Declaration. The meeting highlighted nine priority areas, including strengthening the BRICS TB Research Network, enhancing cooperation among Medical Products Regulatory Authorities, establishing a Sub‑Working Group on an Integrated Early Warning System for mass infectious diseases, promoting digital health architecture for remote care, and creating a Network of Centres of Excellence on Mental Wellness coordinated by NIMHANS. The Union Health Minister emphasized India’s digital health initiatives such as the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and the release of several BRICS compendiums on digital health, healthy lifestyle, and mental wellness.
