TEXT OF THE REFERENCE MADE BY THE HON'BLE CHAIRMAN, RAJYA SABHA TODAY EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES AND SYMPATHY ON BEHALF OF THE HOUSE TO THE VICTIMS OF NATURAL CALAMITIES IN DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE COUNTRY INVOLVING LOSS OF LIVES AND PROPERTY

The Chairman of the Rajya Sabha expressed condolences on behalf of the House for victims of natural calamities that caused loss of lives, injury, and extensive damage to property, crops, public infrastructure, flora and fauna across several states – Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir (UT), Kerala, Mizoram, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand – during June‑July 2026. The respective state governments, supported by National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams, are conducting rescue and relief operations. The House observed a moment of silence and urged members to rise in respect for the deceased.
