ICAR-CISH–APEDA Sea Route Protocol Enables Successful Export of 12.5 Tonnes of Dashehari and Langra Mangoes to Dubai

The ICAR‑CISH and APEDA sea‑route protocol enabled the export of 12.5 tonnes of Dashehari and Langra mangoes from Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, to Dubai via a 40‑foot reefer container. Harvested on 22 June 2026, the mangoes were treated with METWASH, graded, packed, and shipped under a continuous cold chain, reaching Dubai on 17 July 2026 after a 25‑day harvest‑to‑market transit. Despite the extended transit, about 90 % of the fruit arrived in marketable condition. Exporters reported an additional farmer income of ₹15‑20 per kg compared with air‑freight shipments, highlighting cost‑effective sea freight as a viable alternative for fresh‑fruit exports.
