President of India unveils bust of Mahatma Gandhi at the Museum of the City of Skopje, NORTH MACEDONIA
On 22 July 2026, President Droupadi Murmu, together with President Gordana Siljanovska‑Davkova of North Macedonia, unveiled a bust of Mahatma Gandhi at the Museum of the City of Skopje. In her remarks, the President emphasized that Gandhi’s message of truth, non‑violence and dialogue belongs to all humanity and is especially relevant amid global conflict and intolerance. She said the bust will serve as a lasting symbol of the friendship between India and North Macedonia and of their shared commitment to peace, tolerance and humanity. The event was attended by the Mayor of Skopje, a Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, and two Members of Parliament, and formed part of the President’s three‑nation visit that will conclude in Bucharest, Romania.
