Source-grounded summary

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) released results of an Independent Drive Test (IDT) carried out from 20‑23 May 2026 across Lunglei, Lawngtlai and Siaha districts of Mizoram (North‑East LSA). Using SIMs of all Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) on 2G‑5G networks, TRAI measured coverage gaps, call drop rates, call‑silence instances and data download/upload throughput. Coverage gaps were highest for VIL (14928/26469 samples) and lowest for Airtel (11270/46398). Dropped‑call ratios were 21/334 (Airtel), 50/222 (BSNL), 7/344 (RJIL) and 46/207 (VIL). Average download speeds ranged from 5.46 Mbps (BSNL) to 69.89 Mbps (RJIL); average upload speeds ranged from 2.10 Mbps (BSNL) to 11.83 Mbps (Airtel). The findings were shared with the TSPs and posted on the TRAI website.
