PARLIAMENT QUESTION : FUND ALLOCATION & STATUS OF VARIOUS RAILWAY PROJECTS ACROSS MAHARASTHRA

The Ministry of Railways answered a Parliament question on fund allocation and status of railway projects in Maharashtra. As of 1 April 2026, 52 projects (13 new lines, 2 gauge conversions, 37 doublings) covering 5,956 km and costing ₹1,42,635 crore have been sanctioned in the state. Budget outlay for Maharashtra rose from ₹1,171 crore per year (2009‑14) to ₹23,926 crore in 2026‑27 (over 20 times). Recent completions include the Pune‑Miraj‑Londa doubling (₹6,463 cr) and several gauge conversions and doublings. Ongoing projects comprise 29 new lines and multiple multi‑tracking works with a combined cost of over ₹200 crore. The Mumbai‑Ahmedabad High‑Speed Rail project is under execution, with land acquisition completed and civil works progressing on piers, girders and stations.
