Survey for Dharashiv–Beed–Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar New Railway line sanctioned; DPR preparation underway

The Ministry of Railways has sanctioned a survey for the proposed 240 km Dharashiv–Beed–Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar New Railway Line and has begun work on a Detailed Project Report (DPR). The survey is underway, and once the DPR is prepared, project sanction will require consultations with the State Government and approvals from bodies such as NITI Aayog and the Ministry of Finance. The Union Minister for Railways, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, conveyed this information in a written reply in the Lok Sabha on 22 July 2026.
