Allocation of funds under Blue Revolution
The Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying has been implementing the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) since FY 2020‑21 for holistic development of the fisheries and aquaculture sector. Annexure‑I provides State/UT‑wise central fund approvals (Rs 3,15,982.65 lakh) and releases (Rs 2,20,873.98 lakh) for the three financial years 2023‑24 to 2025‑26, with allocations based on budgetary provisions, state performance, fund‑absorbing capacity and project progress. The Ministry reports a 39.61 % rise in fish production (141.64 lakh tonne to 197.75 lakh tonne) and a 58.34 % increase in fisheries exports (Rs 46,666 crore to Rs 73,890 crore) over the last five years. A centralized PMMSY Management Information System (MIS) portal tracks district‑ and state‑level project data, and regular advisories, meetings and field visits are used to monitor fund utilisation.
