PARLIAMENT QUESTION: IMPLEMENTATION OF MISSION MAUSAM

Mission Mausam, launched by the Prime Minister on 14 January 2025, aims to make India a weather‑ready and climate‑smart nation by strengthening Earth‑system observations and early‑warning services. The Ministry of Earth Sciences reports that the observational network now includes 50 Doppler Weather Radars, with plans to add 29 C‑Band, 45 X‑Band and 12 S‑Band radars, and that high‑performance computing capacity has risen to 28 Peta FLOPS in 2025. AI‑based global models, the Decision Support System, and citizen‑centric platforms such as Mausamgram and KALP are operational, delivering hyper‑local forecasts and agrometeorological advisories.
