Promotion of Ayush based medical tourism

The Government has adopted a comprehensive strategy to promote AYUSH‑based medical tourism. A dedicated Ayush Visa (M‑3) and Attendant Visa (M‑4) were introduced on 27 July 2023 to enable foreign nationals to seek AYUSH treatment. The Ayush Quality Mark was launched at the Second Global Traditional Medicine Summit in December 2025 to align product and service standards with international expectations. The Ministry of AYUSH has published Standard Treatment Guidelines for its disciplines and established the Ayurveda Training Accreditation Board (ATAB) under Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth. It has also organised two Medical Value Travel Summits (September 2024, Mumbai; May 2025, Chennai) and participated in the WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine (December 2025), signing multiple MoUs under the International Cooperation (IC) Scheme.
