KALA SANSKRITI VIKAS YOJNA

The Ministry of Culture’s Kala Sanskriti Vikas Yojana (KSVY) is a Central Sector Scheme that provides financial assistance to eligible cultural organisations and individual artists, including tribal and rural performers, across India. Funds are released from the Consolidated Fund of India through the annual budget. The scheme comprises multiple components such as the Guru‑Shishya Parampara Repertory Grant, Financial Assistance for Promotion of Art and Culture (including grants for organisations with national presence, Cultural Function & Production, Himalayan heritage, Buddhist/Tibetan culture, building grants for studios, and domestic festivals), Tagore Cultural Complexes, scholarships and fellowships for artists, and veteran‑artist assistance. Annexures provide five‑year and current‑year data on the number of beneficiaries and amounts disbursed for each component, with detailed state‑wise tables for the Repertory Grant, Cultural Function & Production Grant, Himalayan heritage, Buddhist/Tibetan culture, building grants, and scholarships. The Government also promotes cultural heritage through seven Zonal Cultural Centres that receive annual grant‑in‑aid.
