Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal completed a five‑day visit to Spain, Belgium, Finland and Estonia (13‑18 July 2026) with a high‑level Indian business delegation. The trip focused on deepening India‑Europe economic ties, expanding investment, technology cooperation and B2B engagement, building on the recently concluded India‑EU Free Trade Agreement. Key outcomes included proposals for an annual India‑Spain Joint Commission, advancement of UPI‑Bizum interoperability, adoption of the 2026‑27 Trade and Technology Council Action Plan, listing of additional Indian fishery establishments, and discussions on AI, 6G, quantum tech, clean energy, digital governance and defence collaboration. The minister also urged European firms to use India’s large market and digital infrastructure for manufacturing and innovation.
