Dr Jitendra Singh Calls for Mass Public Movement Against Cancer, Diabetes and Obesity; Stresses Early Detection and Scientific Awareness

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Dr. Jitendra Singh urged a nationwide People’s Movement (Jan Andolan) against cancer, diabetes, obesity and other lifestyle diseases, stressing early detection, right medical advice and evidence‑based healthcare. He highlighted the growing burden of non‑communicable diseases, the spread of health misinformation, and the need for scientific communication. The Minister referenced government efforts such as the Genome India Programme, indigenous biotechnology innovations and the Ayushman Bharat scheme, noting that these aim to make advanced, affordable treatments accessible. He called for stronger public‑private collaboration and urged citizens to adopt healthy habits, regular screenings and scientific awareness to achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
