Indian Team won 1 Gold and 3 Silver Medals at the 37th International Biology Olympiad 2026 in Vilnius, Lithuania

The Indian team secured 1 gold and 3 silver medals at the 37th International Biology Olympiad (IBO) 2026 held in Vilnius, Lithuania from 12‑19 July 2026. The medallists were Bhavyaa Gunwal (gold, Haryana), Soumil Maity (silver, West Bengal), Nishit Kalani (silver, Rajasthan) and Anmol Kumar (silver, Punjab). The delegation included two leaders from HBCSE‑TIFR and two scientific observers. Out of 307 participants from 78 countries, 31 gold, 61 silver and 91 bronze medals were awarded. This was India’s 26th IBO appearance, with a cumulative record of 17 gold, 69 silver and 17 bronze medals, reflecting a 25 % gold and 68 % silver strike rate over the last decade.
