DRI seizes 15 kg methamphetamine, 4 kg pseudoephedrine, 85 lakh smuggled cigarettes, and 2 drone-dropped Pakistan-made pistols in nationwide operations; 5 arrested

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) conducted intelligence‑led operations in four states, seizing 15 kg of methamphetamine tablets, about 4 kg of pseudoephedrine, roughly 85 lakh foreign‑made Gold Flake cigarettes worth ₹20 crore, and two Pakistan‑made pistols dropped by drone. Arrests were made under the NDPS Act, 1985 and the Arms Act, 1959: one person in Mizoram, four in Chennai and additional arrests linked to the other seizures. The operations highlight DRI’s focus on curbing organised smuggling, narcotics trafficking, illicit tobacco trade and cross‑border arms movement.
