No Change in ALMM Policy; Centre Provides Extended Relief Window for Select Solar Projects up to December 2026

The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy has announced that the Approved List of Models & Manufacturers (ALMM) List‑II policy for solar PV cells will not be altered, and no blanket extension will be given to solar projects. However, a limited exemption allowing net‑metering and open‑access renewable energy projects to commission without complying with ALMM List‑II has been extended to 31 December 2026 (previously it ended on 31 May 2026). The move aims to protect existing inventories of standalone solar PV module manufacturers and give them time to transition to ALMM‑listed solar cell suppliers, while supporting the government’s goal of self‑reliant solar PV manufacturing.
