Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah inspected indigenous, state‑of‑the‑art border‑security technologies at the Jhumagachh Border Outpost in Siliguri, West Bengal. He examined a radio‑based fence‑breach detection system that broadcasts a pre‑recorded alert when the fence is tampered, an infra‑red alarm system for difficult terrains, and a gate‑management system for civilian movement. He laid foundations for three BSF projects worth ₹47 crore and a 4‑km border fence costing ₹30 crore, all via virtual mode, and participated in a tree‑plantation drive and a ‘Prahari Sammelan’ with BSF personnel.
