Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah to perform Bhoomi Pujan of the world’s largest curd production plant in Kolkata on 19 July
The Ministry of Cooperation, led by Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, will perform the Bhoomi Pujan of the Amul Bengal Dairy Project – the world’s largest curd production plant – in Kolkata on 19 July 2026. The project involves an investment of about ₹700 crore and will process roughly 30 lakh litres of milk daily, producing 10 lakh kilograms of curd and other cultured dairy products. Over 1.25 lakh milk‑producing farmers (including 30,000 women) in West Bengal will benefit. The programme also includes launching the e‑RCS portal for digital cooperative registration, laying foundations for 14 storage warehouses (1,400 metric tonnes) and inaugurating two 100‑tonne warehouses, and signing an MoU with Bharat Taxi for expanded mobility services.
