Maharashtra Legislature Moves Towards Implementation of NeVA
The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs held a meeting on 16 July 2026 at Vidhan Bhawan, Mumbai, with officials from the central and Maharashtra governments to fast‑track the implementation of the National e‑Vidhan Application (NeVA) in the state legislature. The meeting, attended by Additional Secretary Dr Satya Prakash and senior Maharashtra officials, concluded with a consensus to expedite signing a Memorandum of Understanding among the Ministry, the Maharashtra Legislature Secretariat and the Department of Parliamentary Affairs, Maharashtra. NeVA, a Mission Mode Project under the Digital India Programme with a total outlay of ₹673.94 crore, aims to digitise all 37 legislatures; the Maharashtra component is estimated at ₹48 crore and will create a paperless, transparent, citizen‑centric legislative ecosystem.
