The Prime Minister’s speech at the launch of multiple development projects in Chandigarh highlighted several ongoing and newly‑inaugurated initiatives. The government has spent over ₹2,500 crore on integrated command‑and‑control centre, smart traffic management, smart parking and digital‑governance projects to make Chandigarh a hi‑tech city. New health‑care facilities – an advanced neuro‑sciences centre, an advanced mother‑and‑child centre and a critical‑care hospital block – were announced to expand PGI’s capabilities. Infrastructure upgrades include the six‑lane IT‑City‑to‑Kurali greenfield highway, the foundation stone for the Ambala‑Chandigarh greenfield highway, upcoming railway projects in Jalandhar and the country’s first hydrogen train between Jind and Sonipat. The speech also referenced the Swachh Bharat Mission and related cleanliness drives.
