Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the launch of multiple development projects in Jind, Haryana, announced the inauguration of India’s first hydrogen‑powered train running between Jind and Sonipat – a 90 km trial route that is the world’s longest and most powerful hydrogen train (3,200 hp, 10‑coach). He also disclosed over ₹14,000 crore of additional projects for the state, including new railway and highway works, two medical colleges (Pandit Nekhi Ram Sharma Medical College, Bhivani and Maharshi Chyavan Medical College, Narnau) and associated hospitals, and the laying of three national highways (Delhi‑Amritsar‑Katra Expressway, Jind‑Gohana National Highway, Ambala‑Kala Ambh‑Ferozepur). The PM highlighted the expected creation of new employment opportunities, improved connectivity for farmers and industry, and the role of these projects in advancing India’s ‘Make‑in‑India’ technology agenda.
