Accelerating Workers’ Welfare: Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) Machinery Steps in to Ensure Settlement for Ultratech Cement Contract Workers in Baga, Himachal Pradesh

The Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), Chandigarh, facilitated an amicable settlement on 10 July 2026 between Ultratech Cement Works Plant, Baga, Himachal Pradesh and its contract workers. The agreement will benefit about 284 contract workers and entails an estimated financial outlay of ₹15 crore over five years. Key welfare measures include a ₹6,000 per month wage increase in the first year, a promotion policy, provision of woolen jackets and timely payment of statutory bonus. The management was reminded of its statutory obligations and pledged continued compliance with labour laws. The settlement aims to ensure long‑term industrial harmony at the plant.
