Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan Reaches Over 29.32 Crore Citizens Across The Country Through Community Participation And Nationwide Awareness Campaign

The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment reports that the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA), launched on 15 August 2020, has now reached over 29.32 crore citizens, including more than 11.20 crore youth and 7.92 crore women, through more than 21 lakh awareness activities in schools, colleges and universities. Under the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction, the programme has expanded treatment and rehabilitation services to 768 Integrated Rehabilitation Centres, benefiting 28.29 lakh people, with a 294 percent rise in persons seeking treatment from 2020 to 2025. The Drug De‑addiction Helpline 14446 has logged over 4.60 lakh calls, and the NMBA App 2.0 now enables real‑time reporting of awareness activities.
