Indian Railways Approves Doubling of Tadali–Ghugus Railway Section in Maharashtra at a Cost of ₹228 Crore

The Ministry of Railways has approved the doubling of the 14‑km Tadali‑Ghugus single‑line section in Maharashtra at a cost of ₹228 crore. The section lies on the Wardha‑Balharshah stretch of the Delhi–Chennai High‑Density Network and is primarily freight‑oriented, carrying commodities such as coal, iron ore, gypsum, petroleum products, sand and laterite ash. The project, sanctioned under umbrella works for line‑capacity enhancement, is expected to add about 4.5 million tonnes per annum of freight traffic, thereby improving operational efficiency and supporting regional economic growth.
