TRAI Assesses Mobile Network Quality Across Sindhudurg District and Highway Drive from Pune to Sindhudurg in Maharashtra LSA

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) released results of an Independent Drive Test (IDT) carried out in April 2026 across Sindhudurg district and on the Pune‑Panaji highway in Maharashtra. The IDT measured key Quality of Service parameters – coverage gap, call drop rate, call‑silence instances, and data download/upload throughput – for Airtel, BSNL, RJIL and VIL using 2G‑5G networks. In Sindhudurg, coverage gaps ranged from 8,630/25,174 (Airtel) to 15,234/45,856 (BSNL); dropped calls were 8/226 (Airtel) to 30/399 (BSNL). On the highway, average download speeds were 97.74 Mbps (Airtel) to 5.07 Mbps (BSNL), with upload speeds of 19.08 Mbps (Airtel) to 1.87 Mbps (BSNL). The findings have been shared with the service providers for corrective action and are available on the TRAI website.
