National Rainfed Area Authority Organizes Brainstorming Workshop on Satellite and Drone-based Survey for Watershed Planning and Monitoring under REWARD Programme

The National Rainfed Area Authority (NRAA), acting as a knowledge partner of the Department of Land Resources, convened a brainstorming workshop in Jaipur, Rajasthan on 16 July 2026. The session focused on the use of satellite and drone‑based surveys for watershed planning and monitoring under the World Bank‑assisted REWARD programme (Rejuvenating Watersheds for Agricultural Resilience through innovative Development). Senior officials—including the NRAA CEO, the Secretary‑Commissioner of Panchayati Raj, Rajasthan, and directors from Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and the Ministry of Agriculture—discussed incorporating these technologies into the National Technical Guidelines, which will feed into the WDC‑PMKSY 3.0 framework.
