Prime Minister speaks with the Amir of Qatar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi telephoned H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar, to convey heartfelt condolences on the death of H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Father Amir of Qatar. The Prime Minister praised the late leader’s role as the chief architect of modern Qatar and his contribution to strengthening India‑Qatar relations and his affection for India and the Indian community in Qatar. The Amir thanked the Prime Minister, affirmed appreciation for India’s support, and both leaders reiterated their resolve to carry forward the Father Amir’s legacy, deepen the India‑Qatar Strategic Partnership and maintain close contact.
