Dr. Jitendra Singh Launches Phase-III of "Biomedical Research Career Programme" (BRCP) with collaborative funding by Department of Biotechnology, GoI and the London based Wellcome Trust, UK

The Union Minister of State for Science & Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh, launched Phase‑III of the Biomedical Research Career Programme (BRCP) with a total outlay of ₹1,500 crore – ₹1,000 crore from the Department of Biotechnology and ₹500 crore from the UK‑based Wellcome Trust. The programme, jointly implemented by DBT and the Wellcome Trust under the DBT‑Wellcome Trust India Alliance, aims to continue fellowships and research grants to build a globally competitive biomedical research workforce. Launched in 2008, BRCP has supported over 500 researchers across more than 200 institutions, fostering interdisciplinary research, translational outcomes and international collaborations.
