In the presence of Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah, MCD and NDDB signs MoU for establishment of Compressed Bio-Gas plants in Delhi for proper utilization of cow dung

In the presence of Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) signed a MoU to set up Compressed Bio‑Gas (CBG) plants in Delhi for proper utilization of cow dung. The agreement is presented as a step towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of purifying the Yamuna River, with arrangements to prevent any cow‑dung discharge into the river. The MoU aims to increase livestock farmers’ income, improve urban cleanliness, generate CBG, and boost organic farming. Work has begun on about 80 treatment plants, and the target is to ensure no dirty water enters the Yamuna by December 2028.
