Cabinet approves two multitracking projects covering Four Districts across Odisha and Jharkhand, increasing the existing network of Indian Railways by about 145 Kms

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved two railway multitracking projects – Paradeep‑Haridaspur doubling and Rajkharsawan‑Dangoaposi 4th line – covering four districts in Odisha and Jharkhand. With an estimated cost of about Rs 3,907 crore, the projects will add roughly 145 km to the Indian Railways network and are slated for completion by 2030‑31. They aim to enhance line capacity, improve operational efficiency, and provide seamless connectivity for people, goods and services, benefitting around 1,526 villages (≈14 lakh population) and boosting freight traffic by 44 MTPA.
