Atal Innovation Mission Spearheads India's Frontier Innovation Push at Regional AIM SUMVAAD-North East Chapter 2026

The Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) convened the Regional AIM SUMVAAD‑North East Chapter 2026 in Guwahati, bringing together policymakers, state governments, industry, academia, incubators and startup enablers from the eight Northeastern states. The conclave highlighted the Northeast’s strategic position as India’s gateway to Southeast Asia, its biodiversity, bamboo resources and growing entrepreneurial ecosystem. Key speakers, including Dr. Joram Aniya (NITI Aayog) and Sumit Gakhar (AIM), reaffirmed the Prime Minister’s vision of the region as “Ashta Lakshmi” and stressed the need for collaborative innovation, strengthened incubation ecosystems, and financial and institutional support for startups. Sessions covered bamboo value‑chains, eco‑tourism, handloom innovation and mechanisms to unlock finance and market linkages for regional entrepreneurs.
