Progressive Women Farmers Honoured as NABARD Goa Celebrates 45th Foundation Day

The Goa Regional Office of NABARD marked its 45th Foundation Day on 14 July 2026 at The Goa State Co‑operative Bank Ltd., Patto, Panaji. Chief Guest Dr Parveen Kumar, Director of ICAR‑CCARI, praised NABARD’s 45‑year contribution to Goa’s agriculture and highlighted joint projects such as Khazan‑land rejuvenation, sustainable agriculture and fin‑fish aquaculture. Progressive women farmers from across Goa were honoured for achievements in organic, integrated and agri‑processing ventures, and an exhibition showcased products of Farmer Producer Companies, Organisations and Self‑Help Groups. Attendees included senior officials from the Goa government, RBI, and the cooperative sector. The event reaffirmed commitments to women’s empowerment through financial inclusion, market access, technology adoption and sustainable rural development.
