PRESIDENT OF INDIA INAUGURATES 'SAUSHRUTAM 2026' IN NEW DELHI

On July 15, 2026, President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated ‘Saushrutam 2026’ at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi, coinciding with Sushruta Jayanti. The event included the inauguration of the institute’s MRI section and the launch of a three‑day international seminar on Ayurvedic surgery, bringing together surgeons, academicians and researchers from India and abroad. The President highlighted Acharya Sushruta’s historic contributions, urged young scholars to pursue evidence‑based research, and emphasized the government’s efforts to standardise documentation, integrate digital health and adopt modern scientific techniques to enhance global acceptance of Ayurveda. She also noted collaboration with WHO and the aim to strengthen international cooperation in Ayurvedic surgery.
