Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan Chairs High-Level Review Meeting with West Bengal Chief Minister Shri Suvendu Adhikari and State Ministers in Kolkata

Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan chaired a high‑level review in Kolkata with West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari and state ministers. The meeting reviewed 19 infrastructure projects worth over ₹82,000 crore across roads, rail, metro, petroleum, gas, coal and labour, and directed removal of bottlenecks in land acquisition, R&R, utility shifting and forest clearances. The Centre announced a rural development package of over ₹12,064 crore (₹8,508 crore central share) to be channelled through Panchayats, aiming to raise guaranteed employment from 100 to 125 days. Additional schemes include one‑lakh PMAY‑G houses (survey deadline extended to 15 August), ₹295 crore for women SHGs, and the establishment of a Clean Plant centre in Malda. The Minister also proposed a State‑level Project Monitoring Group and highlighted expansion of PMFBY and KCC coverage.
