Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan Chairs High-Level Review Meeting with West Bengal Chief Minister Shri Suvendu Adhikari and State Ministers in Kolkata
During a high‑level review in Kolkata, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced coordinated actions to accelerate West Bengal’s development. A review of 19 infrastructure projects worth over ₹82,000 crore across roads, railways, metro, petroleum, gas, coal and labour sectors was undertaken, with directives to resolve land‑acquisition, R&R, utility‑shifting and forest‑clearance bottlenecks and a proposal to set up a State‑level Project Monitoring Group. The Centre approved a rural‑development package of more than ₹12,064 crore under the VB‑G RAM G Framework to raise employment from 100 to 125 days. An interim approval for one lakh PMAY‑G houses was given, with the beneficiary‑survey deadline extended to 15 August. Additional financial support of ₹295 crore for women’s SHGs and expanded coverage of PMFBY and Kisan Credit Cards were also announced.
