PIB organises one-day media workshop Varta on "Creating a future ready workforce for India's Creative Economy"
The Press Information Bureau organised a one‑day media workshop ‘Varta’ in Nagpur on 14 July 2026 to discuss creating a future‑ready workforce for India’s creative (orange) economy. Dr Ashish Kulkarni, Board Member of the Indian Institute of Creative Technology (IICT), highlighted that India currently contributes about 3 % to the global orange economy and aims to raise this to 12‑15 % within the next decade. IICT, operating as the National Centre of Excellence for the AVGC‑XR sector since July 2025 from the NFDC complex in Mumbai, will roll out skill‑based courses via a hub‑and‑spoke model and, in partnership with NCERT, introduce the “Kaushal Bodh” curriculum. A proposal was also announced to set up AVGC Content Creator Labs in 500 colleges and 15,000 schools across the country.
