Kargil Vijay Diwas 2026: Raksha Mantri flags-off motorcycle expedition from National War Memorial to Kargil War Memorial

On 14 July 2026, Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh flagged off the 13‑day Shaurya Vijay Yatra, a motorcycle expedition from the National War Memorial in New Delhi to the Kargil War Memorial in Dras, Ladakh. The 28‑member team, comprising serving and retired defence personnel and their families, will cover about 1,900 km across the northern Himalayas, paying tribute at several war memorials and carrying an urn of soil from the National War Memorial to be offered at Kargil. The expedition aims to honour the 1999 Kargil war heroes and inspire patriotism, especially among the youth.
