PROVISIONAL ESTIMATES OF WHOLESALE PRICE INDEX, OUTPUT PRODUCER PRICE INDEX, AND TRIAL INPUT PRODUCER PRICE INDEX FOR THE MONTH OF JUNE 2026, AND FINAL ESTIMATES FOR THE MONTH OF APRIL 2026
The Ministry of Commerce & Industry released provisional estimates for June 2026 showing the All‑India Wholesale Price Index (WPI) at 110.2, implying a 9.87 % year‑on‑year inflation – up from 9.68 % in May. Primary Articles, Fuel & Power and Manufactured Products recorded YoY inflation of 7.0 %, 27.41 % and 7.48 % respectively. Key contributors were Mineral Oils, Food Articles, Basic Metals and Chemicals. The Food Index (weight 24.99 %) rose 6.14 % YoY. The final April 2026 WPI was revised to 108.9, raising April inflation to 8.36 %. Output PPI for June 2026 stood at 109.9 (up from 109.6 in May) and trial Input PPI for manufacturing was 107.1. All indices were compiled with weighted response rates of 82.6 % (June WPI) and 97.5 % (April WPI).
