Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal Begins Spain Visit with High-Level Engagements to Deepen India–Spain Economic Partnership

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal began the Spain leg of his official visit on 13 July 2026 with high‑level engagements aimed at deepening the India‑Spain economic partnership. He met Spain’s First Vice‑President Carlos Cuerpo Caballero and Industry Minister Jordi Hereu Boher to discuss expanding trade, investment, renewable energy, green hydrogen, advanced manufacturing, digital technologies and infrastructure, and to use the Fast Track Mechanism for new investments. The India‑Spain Business Forum, co‑organised by FICCI, CEOE, CII and ICEX, brought together senior officials and business leaders to explore bilateral cooperation, with emphasis on clean energy, mobility, tourism and the India‑EU Free Trade Agreement. The visit coincides with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the India‑Spain Dual Year of Culture, Tourism and Artificial Intelligence 2026.
