Department of Commerce Reviews Andhra Pradesh FCV Tobacco Marketing Season 2025–26

A senior team from the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, led by Additional Secretary Nitin Kumar Yadav, IAS, reviewed the Andhra Pradesh Flue‑Cured Virginia (FCV) tobacco marketing season 2025‑26 in Hyderabad. The team met growers, manufacturers, exporters, dealers, trade bodies and the Tobacco Board, examined the market situation and reiterated the government’s commitment to protect growers’ interests. Discussions covered accelerating procurement, facilitating exports, restructuring the Tobacco Board, enhancing the Growers’ Welfare Fund, simplifying registration, digital initiatives and AI‑based grading, as well as expanding export markets and promoting crop diversification. The Additional Secretary expressed confidence that coordinated stakeholder efforts would improve the sector’s long‑term sustainability and global competitiveness.
