Union Minister for MSME, Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi Reviews Implementation of Flagship schemes of the Ministry in Puducherry, urges banks to facilitate greater access to institutional credit for MSMEs
The Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi, visited Puducherry on 8–9 July 2026 to review the implementation of the Ministry’s flagship schemes. He chaired a review meeting with officials from the Ministry, the Government of Puducherry, NSIC, SIDBI, the State Level Bankers’ Committee and MSME associations, focusing on schemes such as PMEGP, PM Vishwakarma, CGTMSE, MSME‑LEAN, MSME‑ZED, RAMP, PMS, IPR and CHAMPIONS. The Minister urged banks to improve institutional credit access for MSMEs and highlighted the role of the MSME Technology Centre and Testing Station in skill development, advanced manufacturing and quality assurance, reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment to strengthen the MSME ecosystem in the Union Territory.
