Shri Bhupender Yadav chairs the 29th Meeting of the National Tiger Conservation Authority at Coimbatore

The 29th meeting of the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) was convened on 9 July 2026 at the Central Academy for State Forest Service, Coimbatore, and chaired by Union Minister Shri Bhupender Yadav. Attended by MPs, senior ministry officials, chief wildlife wardens and field directors, the meeting reviewed the NTCA’s 2024‑25 Annual Report and the Action‑Taken Report of the 28th meeting, and approved the 6th Cycle of the Management Effectiveness Evaluation of Tiger Reserves. The Minister released two key publications – the ‘Roadmap to Rescue’ for temporary wildlife facilities and ‘STRIDES 2026’ assessing tiger‑reserve infrastructure – and discussed proposals for a Tiger Conclave and the STRIPES symposium to mobilise resources and disseminate research. The deliberations underscored the government’s commitment to science‑based, collaborative tiger‑conservation governance.
