CAQM finds 78 of 79 MCD road stretches compliant with Standard Framework during inspection drive

The Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) carried out an "Operation Clean Air" inspection on 08‑07‑2026, deploying ten Flying Squads to examine 79 road stretches (≈13 km) under the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). Seventy‑eight stretches showed end‑to‑end paving, meeting the Standard Framework for Paving and Greening of Urban Roads issued on 07‑01‑2025, while one stretch was still under construction. The Commission noted that proper paving helps curb road‑dust emissions, a major source of particulate pollution, and urged timely completion and maintenance of the remaining work. Earlier, a 18‑06‑2026 inspection of PWD roads revealed gaps in paving, underscoring the need for broader compliance.
