TRAI Assesses Mobile Network Quality across Barmer, Balotra, Pachpadra city and adjoining areas (in Rajasthan LSA)

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) released results of an Independent Drive Test (IDT) carried out on 1‑2 June and 4 June 2026 across Barmer, Balotra and Pachpadra (Rajasthan LSA). The test measured QoS parameters – coverage gap, call drop rate, call‑silence instances, and data download/upload throughput – for Airtel, BSNL, RJIL and VIL on 2G‑5G networks. Coverage gaps were highest for BSNL (6332/21622 samples) and VIL (4378/27385). Dropped calls were recorded for BSNL (8/183), RJIL (2/260) and VIL (7/251). Average download speeds ranged from 8.11 Mbps (BSNL) to 228.12 Mbps (RJIL); upload speeds ranged from 3.60 Mbps (BSNL) to 24.57 Mbps (Airtel). The findings have been shared with the service providers for corrective action.
