Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh Addresses 15th Graduation Ceremony of 'National Institute of Science, Education & Research' (NISER) in Bhubaneswar; invokes legacy of Homi Bhabha

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, who holds independent charge of Science & Technology, the Department of Atomic Energy and other portfolios, addressed the 15th graduation ceremony of the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) in Bhubaneswar. He highlighted that the institute, under the Department of Atomic Energy reporting directly to the Prime Minister, serves as a custodian of India’s scientific legacy envisioned by Homi Bhabha. The Minister noted recent milestones such as the commissioning of the Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor, the current nuclear power capacity of 8,780 MW and the target of 22,380 MW by 2032, and the development of four Rare‑Earth Corridors, including one in Odisha. He linked these developments to the national goals of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ and Net‑Zero, and praised the role of NEP‑2020 in fostering interdisciplinary scientific education.
