Third India-Australia Annual Summit Joint Statement

The Prime Minister’s Office issued a joint statement on the Third India‑Australia Annual Summit held in Melbourne (8‑10 July 2026). The leaders reaffirmed the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and announced a Joint Declaration on Defence and Security Cooperation, an Annual Defence Ministers’ Dialogue, and a Maritime Security Collaboration Roadmap, including a MoU between Australia’s Maritime Border Command and the Indian Coast Guard. They highlighted progress on the India‑Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement, a Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement, and cooperation in critical minerals, renewable energy, and space (including support for India’s Gaganyaan programme). New initiatives such as the Australia‑India Partnership on Cyber, Critical Technologies and Supply Chains and the ACITI partnership were also announced, alongside cultural, educational, and people‑to‑people engagements.
